Building God's Kingdom through Worship, Outreach, and Fellowship

FOR FAMILIES, CHILDREN & YOUTH

Upcoming events especially for children and youth

Intergenerational Advent Wreath Workshop
November 24, 12 PM
Join us after church on Sunday, Nov. 24, in the parish hall where each household will make an Advent wreath to take home. This activity will be suitable for all ages, and you are encouraged to participate whether or not there are small children in your home. Having an Advent wreath helps guide home prayer and adds to the joyful anticipation of Advent. Light refreshments will be served. While all the materials for the wreaths will be provided, we are asking for cash donations to help offset costs. We're also asking for greenery donations: if you have evergreens in your yard (fir, cedar, holly, etc) that you can trim and donate, please bring them to church between 8 AM and 4 PM Mon-Thur the week prior to the event. Thank you!

Christmas Eve Cookies 'n Goodies!
December 24 at 2:15 PM
Everyone who plans to attend the 3:00 PM Christmas Eve service is invited to come at 2:15 PM for Cookies n’ Goodies in the Parish Hall. Please bring your favorite Christmas cookies to share. This will be a time for fellowship, snacking, children’s activities, and for the children to pick a pageant costume if they haven’t already done so.

Christmas Eve Service with Children's Pageant
December 24 at 3:00 PM
All are welcome to join us for this family-oriented Christmas Eve service that includes a children's pageant. The service will last approximately 50 minutes. All children are invited to participate in the pageant - they can choose their costume as you enter for worship.

Participate in the Christmas Eve Pageant
There will be a children's pageant as part of our 3:00 PM Christmas Eve service. There are no rehearsals and no lines to memorize. Just pick your costume and show up! If you have a child, grandchild, or neighbor who would like to pick out a costume, there will be parent volunteers stationed in the parish hall after church every Sunday in December to help children peruse and select costumes. Children will also be welcome to pick out a costume when they arrive before the 3:00 service on Dec. 24 if they haven't already done so.

**New this year: Christmas Children's Choir**
In addition to the usual children's pageant, we are forming an
optional children's choir for ages 4 and up which will rehearse on
Sundays leading up to the pageant. Join us Sundays in December from
9:45-10:15 in the children's library to rehearse, and we will sing our
song at the 3 PM Christmas Eve service.

YOUTH & CHILDREN'S MINISTRIES AT ST. ANDREWS

Click here  for Christian Formation resources you can use at home!

Nursery
The nursery is open Sunday mornings 9 am to noon for children newborn to age 3. It is staffed by paid professionals who have completed Safe Church training and a background check.

Children's Chapel
Children aged 4 through 5th grade are invited to join us every Sunday during the school year during the 10:30 worship service. Meet the teachers on the Ferguson Ave. playground at 10:15. After some recreation time, the children go inside and are separated into older and younger age groups for a lesson based on that Sunday's lectionary. Children return to parents in worship in time for Communion. All our Children's Chapel volunteers are safe-church trained and background checked.

Youth Group
St. Andrew's partners with Hilton Presbyterian for a Youth Grouop for grades 6-12.  Contact Ginny Chilton, Supervisor of Children's & Youth Ministry, at St. Andrew's, to learn more. If your youth has any questions about what to expect, Ginny will be delighted to talk to you both. We look forward to seeing you and your friends there!

Acolytes
Children and youth are invited to participate in worship, performing a variety of ceremonial duties during the service. Contact the church office if your child would like to join this ministry.
